    • Ready to harvest approximately 62 days from transplant

  • Fun Facts

    • Kale has a flavor that is enhanced by frost

    • Harvest can continue even after snow!

  • Seed Saving

    • Please not that it takes two years for kale to complete its growth cycle, seed saving should take place at the end of the second year

    • Allow kale to go to seed, resulting in huge plants and yellow blossoms, these blossoms will drop and dry into long, skinny seed pods

    • Wait until seed pods are fully mature with dark, almost black, seeds inside

    • Harvest pods and spread seeds out to dry for approximately two weeks

    • Seeds should be stored in a cool, dry place and are viable up to three years
