The 1st woman aviator flew on Long Island in 1910. Within months, other women were taking flying lessons on the Hempstead Plains & became the 1st women licensed aviators in the country. Learn about the fascinating history of Long Island's pioneer women pilots, from the early 1900's through Amelia Earhart and beyond!
