Van Johnson and James Whitmore star in this classic true story about an American division trapped by the Germans in Belgium during the World War II Battle of the Bulge in December, 1944.  Considered one of the first realistic depictions of World War II, it was a best picture nominee at the 1950 Academy Awards.
