  • Phaseolus vulgaris 

  • Growing Instructions 

    • Sow in average soil in a sunny location after the danger of frost and soil has warmed in Spring or early Summer  

    • Seeds may rot in cooler soils, full sunlight is best  

    • Rows should be 24" apart, and seeds planted at a depth of 1”, with a support trellis or fence in place 

    • Pods can be left on the vine to mature and then harvested as dry beans 

    • Ready to harvest in approximately 85 days  

  • History 

  • Seed Saving 

    • Allow pods to fully dry on the vine when possible  

    • If rain or frost makes this impossible, pull the pods and allow them to dry indoors for 10-15 days  

    • Remove the seeds from the pods  \

    • Seeds should be stored in a cool, dry place and are viable up to three years
