Alone: Teen Book Review

Author: Cyn Balog

Genre: Horror

Format: Book, E-Book

Plot: Seda and her family move from Boston into a new house, however, their new home is known for its old reputation as a murder-mystery hotel. They seem to live happily, unbothered by its history, except for Seda. Seda misses her old life in Boston, she doesn’t believe ghosts are real, but she is constantly bothered by the creepy atmosphere. Seda’s mother says they’d go back to Boston when they could sell their house, but what happens when there's no sellers and when winter comes? Seda and her family spend the winter in the creepy house, with other stranded visitors, and Sawyer.

Review: I didn’t enjoy this book that much. The story progression is extremely slow, making it boring. There’s really nothing interesting to keep the reader want to keep reading. Yes, the story does eventually progress, but it’s such a slow pace, it’s not entertaining. The only thing that was convincing me to finish the book was to see the ending, but I just wasn’t satisfied by this. I would only recommend it to people patient enough to finish it.

Rating: ★★
