Spring Break Fun!

It’s day 5 of Spring Break.

As you make plans to head outdoors and enjoy the weather, don’t forget how important our favorite pollinators, the bees, are for this time of the year.

Bees are responsible for so much of the beautiful settings and sceneries we enjoy outside.  They help pollinate the various flowers, fruit, and vegetable plants.  Without bees, and other pollinator friends, our plant life would be almost non-existent.

Let’s give thanks to the bees by celebrating them with these buzz-tastic books and craft:

Build this simple, kid-friendly bee habitat using things you have around the house!

Get an empty can, any will do (vegtable, coffee, etc), decorate it in bright colors.  Roll paper into tubes and secure the sides so they won't unroll.  Then take the tubes and fill the can until it is full.  Tie a string or rope around the can and hang it in a tree for the bees to move in.
