Where to Donate Used Books

Lindenhurst Memorial Library is not currently accepting used books or media materials. We have compiled a list of organizations that do accept used books, and be sure to keep an eye on our newsletter for any upcoming Friends of the Library book sales!

Better World Books

Books accepted: Any

Book Fairies

Books accepted: all age books in good condition, from baby through adult, published in the last 20 years. They will also accept college-level textbooks published within the past 10 years. They do not accept encyclopedias, magazines, CDs, DVDs, or faith-based books.

Drop off books in the bin behind the building at:

Books for Africa

Books accepted: Books for children, books for adults that are less than fifteen years old, and some educational textbooks. Books for Africa has a full list of what is and is not accepted on their website.

After mailing your books, be sure to email bfa@booksforafrica.org to receive an acknowledgment for your tax records.

Little Free Libraries 

There are a number of Little Free Libraries around town where you can donate gently used books in small quantities. Find a list of locations on our Friends of the Library page.
