Gale Presents: National Geographic Kids puts kids at the helm, allowing them to benefit by taking an active part in their learning. They can journey to the depths of the ocean and venture to the surface of the moon.

Manga Book Club update! Manga Book Club will now be Manga & Anime Club and will also be held at the library. We will be reading the first manga in a series and then watching the first episode of the same titled anime to compare the two. Snacks and drinks will also be served.

Do you like to cook or bake? Join us on December 20th to make Peppermint Bark! We will be using the library’s new Charlie Cart, which is a compact mobile kitchen. You will learn food safety, how to follow a recipe, how to use kitchen utensils and how to use a stove top!

November is National Native American Heritage Month and there are plenty of ways to learn, celebrate and honor the lives and culture of Native Americans from the past, present and future. 

Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig were good friends and enjoyed visiting Lindenhurst to dine and fish at Barnacle Bill’s restaurant and docks on Montauk Highway along with other teammates.

Audiobooks are having a moment with so many phenomenal releases in 2022. Plus, June is Audiobook Appreciation Month! Take some time and explore a new way to read. The library has several different ways to use audiobooks.

Bluebird is a new app from Pronunciator that allows you to learn over 150 languages on your phone, tablet, or computer!

The library will close to the public on August 15 so we can begin the process of unpacking 1,400 boxes of materials, receiving furniture and shelving, and setting up our new public areas!

The children of Breslau originally attended school with children of Huntington farmers in a small one-room schoolhouse on Montauk Highway (Breslau/Lindenhurst was originally part of Huntington township, before the founding of Babylon).

• Door frames installed, walls finished and painted, and ceiling

• ADA first floor bathrooms framed and connected to plumbing
• Solar panels installed
• New ceiling under mezzanine completed and painted
• Framing of quiet stu
